Having lived the life this instrument has certainly lived and, at a little over 90 years old, remaining in all original condition with no cracks or repairs outside of an expert neck reset for a killer action is no mean feat, and that merely scratches the surface of what makes this stunning 00-21 so special.
Built in 1929 by Martin in Nazareth, PA, this remarkable guitar features a set of bookmatched Brazilian Rosewood for the back and sides paired with an Adirondack Spruce top that sports the kind of patina only years of playing and love can bestow.
The Mahogany neck is comfortable and inviting, with Martin's iconic 'V' shape neck carve providing a smooth, easy feel all the way through to the far end of the board. The Ebony board is subtly adorned with charming inlays and still hosts the original 'bar' style frets of the time which have been wonderfully maintained.
Sonically, this 00 embodies so many of the characteristics that make pre-war Martins so desirable, with a rich and lively touch sensitive response and bell-like chime, it effortlessly produces inspiring and classic sounds in a wide variety of playing styles, a truly difficult thing to put down.
Like so many guitars of its time, it see's various markings and initials from previous owners that only add the charm and history of this storied piece, a guitar with a life well lived and so much more to give!
